This work is based on the Hiraume knot motif from Japanese traditional Mizuhiki.　Mizuhiki is a type of decorative cords used to decorate gifts, and various good prayers are included depending on the shape of the cords.　This work, like such Mizuhiki, embodies the desire to banish the devil and bring in good fortune.　In addition, the plum itself is considered an auspicious tree that blooms to push back the cold, harsh winter and welcome the arrival of spring.　Murasaki no Ue, a heroine in “The Tale of Genji,” is described as a woman who loves plum trees, and such elegance of the Heian Period wafts gently from this work.　The beautiful expressions made in complex twists by 3D knitting remind us of a firm bond, pledge or resolution from within ourselves.　The small size gives these works the advantage of being able to decorate any space.
